Understanding The Complexities Of Chinese Zodiac Signs
1
Nov

With a complex mix of calendar cycles and associations to animals, Chinese astrology is as mysterious as it is effective. Unlike other disciplines, the culture embraces astrology with bright, wonderful celebrations and integrates beliefs into their everyday lives.

Chinese astrology is the divination of the future from the Chinese calendar. This basic cycle has been constructed from two cycles: the 10 heavenly stems (the five elements in their yin and yang forms) and the 12 earthly branches, or the 12-year cycle of animals referred to as the Chinese zodiac.

Chinese astrology
The Chinese animal zodiac also operates on a cycle of months or ‘moons’ and of hours of the day. The animal signs assigned by year represent how others will perceive you as being, or how you present yourself.

It is a common misconception that the animals assigned by year are the only signs, and many western descriptions of the Chinese version draw solely on this system. In fact, there are also animal signs assigned by month (called inner animals) and hours of the day (called secret animals).

While a person might appear to be a dragon because they were born in the year of the dragon, they might also be a snake internally and an ox secretively. In total, this makes for 8,640 possible combinations that a person might be.

An individual’s monthly animal sign is called their inner animal and is concerned with what motivates a person. Since this sign dictates the person’s love life and inner persona, it is critical to a proper understanding of the individual’s compatibility with other signs. These are all critical for the proper use of this Asian astrology.

zodiac signs
In Chinese astrology, each sign is linked to a month in the solar year, as well as to a season. It’s believed that the elements transfers a portion of its characteristics to the sign concerned.

The fixed element of each sign applies also to the year and hour signs, and not just the monthly sign. It is important to note that the fixed element is separate from the cycle of elements which interact with the signs in the 60 year cycle.

The Chinese zodiac is also used to label times of day, with each sign corresponding to a “large-hour,” which is a two-hour period (24 divided by 12 animals). It is therefore important to know the exact time of birth to determine it.

The secret animal is thought to be a person’s truest representation, since this animal is determined by the smallest denominator: a person’s birth hour. It is a person’s own true sign, upon which their personality is based.

horoscope astrology
Chinese new year celebrations are renowned for the bold displays of Asian tradition and symbols from Chinese zodiac signs. Most societies don’t practice astrology readings as openly as the Chinese do.

Businessmen won’t make deals on some days, couples try to have babies in certain years and particular addresses are believed to be good luck. This is an example of how the astrology beliefs of this culture shapes the way people live.

Become More Aware in Sleep with Galantamine Lucid Dreaming
7
Jun

How many times have I heard that there’s no magic pill to greater awareness? Well, I may have to eat crow because I have discovered a natural brain supplement that does just that. I am talking about galantamine, and its proven power to stimulate your lucid dreams. Lucid dreams can be defined simply as dreams that you know you are aware and still safely confined in the sleep state. This is a unique frame of mind that can provide some amazing experiences for advanced dreamers.

In the old days, to learn lucid dreaming you have to develop your dream recall to a high degree, work on your memory to incubate a lucid dream, and learn to recognize signs that you are dreaming. Taking a lucid dreaming pill alone is worthless without mind training, but if you are practicing these skills and taking galantamine, the chance of success practically triples. Why does galantamine lucid dreaming work? Galantamine slows the absorption of an important neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. This improves the quality of REM sleep which is when most dreams occur. This affect has also been linked with improved memory and concentration in studies of people suffering from alzheimers. Add some choline – which is an amino acid that promotes the production of acetylcholine – and this natural supplement will greatly improve your chance of realizing “Hey, this is a dream!” Believe it or not, galantamine’s effects may even be more effective when paired with some caffeine. Caffeine reduces deep sleep, but not REM sleep. So with this combination there are more dream moments to become lucid in the first place.

Beware: if this is new to you, start with small doses. I encourage people to also ground their lucid dream practices with breathwork and physical exercise. Lightly tampering with brain chemistry at this level is harmless, but some people have experienced paranoia with too much galatamine in their system. If you are careful and respectful of your body and your sleep, you will be rewarded.

Astrologer Tips For the Study of Astrology
19
Mar

Astrology Readings Teaches that you must know, every Sign contain in longitude thirty degrees, and every degree sixty minutes. The beginning is from Aries, and so in order one Sign after another: so the whole Zodiac contains 360 degrees, the second degree of Taurus is the two and thirtieth degree of the Zodiac, the tenth of Taurus is the fortieth, and so in order all throughout the twelve signe; yet you shall ever account the Aspects from the degree of the Zodiac wherein the Planet is, as if Saturn be in ten degrees of Gemini, and I would know to what degree of the Ecliptic he castes his sinister Sextile Aspect; reckoning from Aries to the 10th degree of Gemini, I find Saturn to be in the 70th degree of the Zodiac, according to his longitude; if we add 60 degrees more to 70, they make 130, which answers to the 10th degree of the Sign Leo, to which Saturn castes his Sextile Apsect, or to any Planet in that degree.

When two Planets are equally distant one from each other, 60 degrees, we say they are in Sextile Apsect.

When two Planets are 90 degrees distant one from another, we call that Aspect a Square Aspect.

When two Planets are 120 degrees distant, we say they are in Trine Aspect.

When two Planets are 180 degrees distant, we call that Aspect Opposition.

When two planets are in one and the same degree and minute of any sign, we say they are in Conjunction.

So then if you find Saturn in the 1st degree of Aries, and Moon or any other Planet in the 1st degree of Gemini, you shall say they are in a Sextile Aspect, for they are distant one from another 60 degrees, and this Aspect is indifferent good.

If Saturn or any other Planet be in the 1st degree of Aries, and another Planet in the 1st degree of Cancer, you must say they are in a Square Aspect, because there is 90 degrees of the Zodiac betwixt them: this Aspect is of enmity and not good.

If Saturn be in the 1st degree of Aries, and any Planet in the1st degree of Leo, there being now the distance of 120 degrees, they behold each other with a Trine Aspect; and this doth denote Unity, Concord and Friendship.

If you find Saturn in the 1st degree of Aries, and any Planet In the 1st degree of Libra, they being now 180 degrees each from other, are said to be in Opposition: A bad Aspect: and you must be alert to know what sign are opposite each to other, for without it you cannot erect the Figure of a Horoscope Chart.

When Saturn is in the 1st degree of Aries, and any Planet is in the same degree, they are then said to be in Conjunction: And this Aspect is good or ill, according to the nature of the question demanded.

Reflection Telescopes : Selecting The Best Reflecting Telescope

What Are Reflecting and Refracting Telescopes

Telescopes are essential tools for exploring objects in the night sky and the primary part of any telescope is the objective lens. The objective lens is what gives access to the light into the telescope enabling you to see the projected images from the sky. Telescopes with larger objectives let more light in and this means a sharper image for the observing astronomer.

The two main kinds of telescopes are reflecting telescopes and refracting telescopes. These are essentially similar in design except for the fashion in which they collect light.

The Key Differences in Refracting and Reflecting Telescopes

The objective lens in refracting telescopes is a glass lens that is placed close to the front end of the telescope. The objective guides the light that it gathers and refracts, or deflects, it to send it to the eyepiece, which amplifies the image. Refracting telescope engineering is also usedin other equipment like binoculars, rifle scopes and spyglasses.

On the other hand, reflecting telescopes are different because the objective lens is a mirror at the distal end of the telescope rather than a glass lens at the front end. The mirror in a reflecting telescope has a dished shape, or a bowl-like shape, which allows it to capture the light in the central section of the mirror and send it as one stream of light towards the eyepiece so the image can be easily viewed.

Benefits of Using a Reflecting Telescope

Reflecting telescopes are preferred by many for a range of reasons. One reason is less distortion with a reflecting telescope than with a refracting telescope since the mirror is able to gather and reflect all wavelengths of color consistently. The utilizing of the mirrors instead of glass lenses makes reflecting telescopes more affordable than refracting telescopes.

When mirrors are utilized rather than glass lenses, the telescope can be designed much larger to allow for the supports for the mirror to be located on the bottom end of the telescope. The larger the mirror that is used, the more light can be reflected and the better and clearer the image will be.

Specific Issues with the Reflecting Telescope

Reflecting telescopes have their own unique potential problems as well. One problem can simply be the size of reflecting telescopes. As designers use larger and larger mirrors, the telescopes have to grow in size to fit the mirrors inside. Whilst the results are generally superior with the larger reflecting telescopes, they are not very portable and it can prove problematic finding a a convenient place to locate them when you are not using them.

An additional consideration or problem is that reflecting telescopes may require to have the mirrors from time to time to keep them working perfectly and to maximize the light that is captured.

Many of the better known telescope brands provide both refracting and reflecting style telescopes for the unprofessional stargazer.

Almost all of the major telescopes used in research are reflectors. Reflecting telescopes come in numerous design variations and may apply complementary optic elements to enhance image quality or position the image in a mechanically advantageous position. As reflecting telescopes employ mirrors, the design is sometimes referred to as a catatropic telescope.

How To Learn About Horoscopes - Free Course From Audio Astrology Readings
24

Personal astrology with the advent of the Internet is a fast growing service now being used by more and more people across the world.

Real astrology is no longer an obscure science to be understood by the select few or being used only as an entertainment medium. There are according to some, ‘real’ benefits to ‘real’ astrology. So what exactly is it that personalised astrology has to offer the individual?

Primarily personal astrology it is said is all about you and your potential in this lifetime. Astrology is according to advocates a tool to greater self understanding and to greater self-awareness that allows you to move through life with more clarity and a clearer idea of who you are.

Astrology is said to give a clearer perspective of your experiences and of all those around you, plus in the case of ‘relationship astrology’ it is claimed to give us a greater understanding of our interactions with other individuals too.

Understanding the energies and the elements working with-in astrology will, if we are prepared to ‘buy into’ the concepts give us a deeper and more fulfilling understanding of our life and of the world around us.

My advice, before beginning to learn astrology , it’s best to have a clear understanding of the Solar System. This understanding can be obtained without going into all the elaborate details that Astronomy is concerned with. An Astrologer, require only a general understanding of Astronomy’s broad outlines are therefore all that is required, and without being proficient in mathematics, anyone with an menial level of education may learn quite simply all that I have to say on this subject.

The Art has an unlimited amount of these solar systems, of varying sizes - some larger and some smaller than our own. When we realise this, our minds expand, our vision becomes clearer and our hearts can fill with wonder and reverence for that unknowable and great supreme power that is the primary cause of all glory that fills the all of space. However, no amount of guesswork concerning other solar systems can reveal the true state of affairs in the broad expanse of the heavens. Therefore, it becomes more profitable to confine our attention, for the time being, to the solar system of which we form a part, leaving the study of fixed stars with their immense magnitudes and distances out of our present considerations.

Example:

If we were to draw a circle, and in it’s centre place a single point, we would have a representation of ourselves in relation to space. Using our imagination to further explore this idea to think of the Sun as being in the centre of and enormous circle, extending many millions of kilometres into space, then we may comprehend and understand what the circumference of the solar system means. It will do you well to ponder over this amazing and wonderful system. In the past, the Sun was recognised as the home and source of the primal energy from which all light and life comes. It being in fact the centre or, as we would term it for practical purposes, the body of the Logos of the solar system. From this glorious body, radiates the light which illuminates the whole, and there can be no grander concept of God than this idea of One who sustains the whole of His universe by His manifestation, the Sun: “In him we live, move, and have our being”.

All bigoted conceptions of religion must fade into insignificance as we realise that the Sun is the life and light of ourselves, and of the entire system.

Classic Misunderstandings About Conscious Dreaming
14
Dec

Let’s do the math: we sleep a third of our lifetimes away, and slightly less are dreams. So, the argument goes, lucid dreaming is the way to reclaim those house “lost” to idle dreams. But lucid dreaming scholars would never claim that ordinary dreams are unimportant. Rather, lucid dreams can be seen as opportunities to deepen the work that is already being done in our usual nightly adventures in dreamworld.

lucid dreaming is the art of being aware in the dream state. Even though many assume that lucid dreaming means you can control your dream, this is actually only a wish of beginner lucid dreamers. Rather, dream control is best achieved as self-control: learning to modulate emotions, attention, and intentionality in the dream. It is especially difficult to control your emotions in the lucid dream state, because fears and other intense feelings quickly come to the fore in lucid dreams.

So most of the talk about “dream control” is actually in defense of these strong emotions. Scholars of dream science suggest that being aware in dreams is an opportunity to face fully those strong emotions that appear in the dream, instead of using awareness to shut the emotions down. No wonder dream control sounds so tempting! Awareness is a powerful force, but it can easily be used in defense of self-knowledge. Many cultures use lucid dreaming as a healing practice, and harnessing the emotional substrate of the dream is a key part of the training. To sum it up, focusing on self-control is the best way to learn about the gift of awareness during dreams.

Discover Important Knowledge of Houses in Astrology
16
Nov

Signs affect HOW a planet operates. HOUSES show WHERE planets are working, in WHAT AREA of your life they are having an effect. Houses have no special names to memorize. They are simply numbered one through twelve, and each house has similarities to its corresponding sign. For instance, sign number five, Leo, is the SIGN of romance and creativity in general. In your horoscope, HOUSE number five shows in particular what your romantic life is like. Astrologers probably get asked more about this house than any other.

First House: This begins with the Ascending Sign at the left side of the horoscope wheel. This house shows your outward and superficial traits. It is what people see when they first meet you, as opposed to the Sun-Sign which shows your inner traits. This house corresponds to the 1st sign, Aries, which is the sign of new beginnings.

Second House: Money and possessions. But it goes beyond these. The second house also shows the VALUE you place on things, including yourself, so it includes your sense of self-worth.

Third House: Communications, and one’s style of communicating, the “lower mind” (the ability to perceive facts and communicate them), short journeys, brothers and sisters, neighbors, and anything within arms reach. This house corresponds to the 3rd sign, Gemini, the sign of communications.

Fourth House: Your home, the domestic environment in general, your early years, and the parent of lesser influence, usually the father. I’m frequently asked whether the early environment has more influence than the horoscope. My answer has always been that the formative years are shown by the 4th house. This house also shows what we become during the last third of our life. The older we get, the more we become like the sign and the planets in our 4th house. This house corresponds to the 4th sign, Cancer, sign of the home. It is also the only house where the correspondence breaks down a bit. Cancer is the sign of motherhood, but the 4th house usually indicates the father.

Fifth House: Romance and children (there is a connection), creativity, gambling and speculation, hobbies, sports, fun and games. This house corresponds to the 5th sign, Leo, sign of romance, creativity, and children.

Sixth House: Work and service, both given and received. This is not career (ruled by the 10th house) but rather your style and quality of work. It also shows health matters. This house corresponds to the 6th sign, Virgo, sign of work, service, and health.

Seventh House: Marriage and partnership. Any time you approach anyone else as an equal, you are using your 7th house, so it rules more than marriage and business partners. It rules open enemies as well. It may seem contradictory for marriage and open enemies to be shown by the same area of the horoscope, but if that’s what you think, you probably have never been married. This house corresponds to the 7th sign, Libra (not that terrible movie with Demi Moore), sign of partnership.

Eighth House: Sex, death, rebirth (in the sense of regeneration). Since this is opposite the 2nd house (which rules YOUR money, possessions, and values) the 8th house rules other people’s money, possessions, and values, your ability to utilize the possessions of others for your own ends. By extension, it rules insurance and tax matters, as well as the influence that the values of others have on you (social values). It can also indicate what influence, if any, you can have on the values of those around you, including the society you live in. As far as sex goes, the 5th house may rule romance, but the 8th house gets down to the sex act itself, your style of sex, your tastes, what turns you on. This includes any fetish you may have. Now you see why astrology readings are confidential. By the way, if you like to play music during sex and you happen to get involved with someone who has the planet Mars in the 8th house AND the sign of their Mars is Gemini, well the music you should play is the Minute Waltz!

This house corresponds to the 8th sign, Scorpio, sign of sex, death, regeneration, and other people’s money.

Ninth House: Religion, philosophy, higher education, “higher mind” (the ability to grasp general principles as opposed to the “lower mind” ability to perceive and communicate individual facts). In general, it shows the principles (or lack of principles) that we were raised with. Since the 9th house is opposite the 3rd, it shows long journeys (requiring an overnight stay) as opposed to short ones.

Tenth House: Career (as opposed to day-to-day work), public image (as opposed to your private image), the goals of your life. The 10th house begins with the Mid-Heaven, the highest point in the horoscope. Additionally, the 10th house rules the parent of “greater influence”, usually the mother. This house corresponds to the 10th sign, Capricorn, sign of ambition and organizing skills.

Eleventh House: Traditionally assigned to Friends, Hopes, and Wishes. It goes beyond that, however. The 11th house indicates how we deal with groups of people. This house corresponds with the 11th sign, Aquarius, sign of friendship.

Twelfth House: Self-undoing, psychological problems, restrictions and places of restriction, hidden enemies (as opposed to the open enemies shown by the 7th house). I know, it doesn’t sound like a nice house, but strong placements here usually increase one’s intuition.

How to Handle Planets in Astrology
14
Nov

In Astrology, every planet is connected with certain functions.

The Sun: Your ego, your basic character. What you are at heart. How you relate to men in general, especially the father. If the Sun is strongly placed in your horoscope, you will tend to be outgoing, authoritative, maybe even a bit theatrical, and you will be more likely to seek attention. The Sun rules the sign of Leo.

The Moon: Your instincts, habit patterns, and unconscious drives. What kind of home you prefer. How you relate to women in general, especially the mother. If the Moon is strongly placed in your horoscope, mood swings tend to be more pronounced and you will be more likely to consciously make decisions on the basis of hunches or feeling. The Moon rules the sign of Cancer.

Mercury: Your ability to think, communicate, and gather information. If Mercury is strongly placed in your horoscope, you will have an increased need for communication and variety. Mercury rules the signs of Gemini and Virgo.

Venus: Your ability to express affection. Artistic taste. Love, possessions, and happiness. People with Venus strongly placed in their horoscopes are more likely to be considered charming and they will tend to be strongly attracted to the arts. Venus rules the signs of Libra and Taurus.

Mars: Aggression and energy. If Mars is strongly placed in your horoscope, you will tend to be active, energetic, assertive, even aggressive. Mars rules the sign of Aries.

Jupiter: Your ability to grasp general principles, as opposed to the specific sense data of Mercury. It also charts our optimism. The sign position of Jupiter shows where we feel most safe and secure and can therefore take advantage of opportunity. This is the quality that is frequently referred to as “good luck”, but is really just “nothing ventured, nothing gained”. Jupiter rules the sign of Sagittarius.

Saturn: Caution and fear, contraction. Also ambition and determination. Without the obstacles of Saturn, we would never grow. Saturn is strongly placed in the horoscopes of doctors, research scientists, and business people. The sign position shows what we need to feel safe and secure, and what we fear that we will never have enough of. Since this is where we tend to be fearful, we become nervous and tend to “mess up”, or never try at all. This is the quality that frequently comes across as “bad luck”. Saturn rules the sign of Capricorn.

Uranus: Your originality and drive for freedom. This is the “Rebel” planet. It opposes the established order simply because it is an established order. Besides, it thinks it can do a better job. When Uranus is strong in the horoscope, we get people who are considered geniuses, eccentrics, cranks, or insane by the society they live in. These people have a strong tendency to shock and upset others, even when they don’t seem to want to. Examples are Isadora Duncan and Lenny Bruce. Politicians with Uranus strongly placed tend to overthrow the “establishment” only to build a new, frequently more oppressive order. Don’t vote for them! As an example, take a look at the horoscope of Adolph Hitler. Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius.

Neptune: Where we see the world through “rose-colored glasses”. Where we see what we want to see. This is the planet of imagination as well as illusion. If Neptune is strongly placed in the horoscope, the person is most likely to be considered imaginative and sensitive. Neptune rules the sign of Pisces.

Pluto: Sex, death, and regeneration. Extremes. Where we tend to pull out all the stops and never compromise. Pluto strongly placed in your horoscope generally means you are a person not to be messed with. Pluto rules the sign of Scorpio.

How to Handle Astological Natal Charts and Money Matters Wisely
14
Nov

Key Factors For Determining Money Potential.

1. The condition of the 2nd house for one’s personal assets: planets found within the house and their aspects; the ruler of the second house and its position by sign, house and aspect; and the sign on the cusp of the second house.

2. The condition of the 8th house for one’s personal assets accumulated through partnership and/or marriage: planets found within the house and their aspects; the ruler of the eighth house and its position by sign, house and aspect; and the sign on the cusp of the eighth house.

3. The condition of the 11th house for one’s personal assets accumulated through business and career: planets found within the house and their aspects; the ruler of the eleventh house and its position by sign, house and aspect; and the sign on the cusp of the eleventh house.

4. The condition of Venus, the natural ruler of the second house, and Jupiter, the planet of expansion. Also, look for where the signs Taurus and Sagittarius are found in the chart.

5. The chart ruler and its relationship to the rulers of the second and eighth houses. Also take note of any planets found in the second and eighth houses.

6. The condition of Saturn and Mars in the chart. On their own, these factors do not show money potential, but they are contributing factors to accumulating wealth.

The second house rules possessions and attitudes towards money. The eighth house rules money accumulated through partnership or marriage. The eleventh house rules money accumulated through business and career.

You might notice a pattern here. In fact, one can use derivative houses in order to determine the potential for personal assets from different areas of life. For example, the fifth house rules creativity, and the second house from the fifth house is the sixth house. Conceivably, we could look to the 6th house to determine the potential for money earned from creative endeavors or creative hobbies. The fifth house also rules our offspring, so we could also look to the 6th house to find the potential for money earned through children.

Of course, these houses have more meanings, esoteric ones as well. We are simplifying here in order to study one particular aspect of life. See Important Notes below.

Many astrologers look to the second house ruler in order to get a good feel for the native’s wealth potential. For example, if the sign on the cusp of the second house is Aries, the ruler of Aries is Mars. Therefore, Mars rules the second house in this example. Where is Mars found in the chart, and what aspects does it make? Mars might be found in Taurus in the second house, conjunct the Moon, trine Uranus and Pluto, square Jupiter, and opposite Neptune. This is a rather complex picture, but we can get some sense of the money potential of this individual. This particular native has quite a few planets in the second house. In addition to Mars and the Moon mentioned above, he has the Sun and Mercury there as well, and Venus is in the first house but conjunct the second house cusp. With so much activity in the second house, one would expect the native to be quite focused on building up his personal assets.

We can expect this person to do rather well for himself as a result, but the square of the second house ruler to Jupiter, and more notably the opposition to Neptune, suggests that he may easily spend a lot of the money he does make. As focused as he is on making money, he may have a tendency to over-indulge (square to Jupiter) and perhaps money may slip through his fingers a little too easily for him to accumulate much wealth (opposition to Neptune). In reality, the native in question is quite content with his position. He is a hard worker, and has a philosophy about living in the here and now. In his case, he is not concerned about accumulating wealth. He does not want—he makes a fair amount of money.

I have found hard aspects of money significators to Neptune to be rather problematic. Hard aspects to Jupiter can be troublesome as well. One client, for example, had her chart read by an astrologer at the age of 18. She was told that because the ruler of her second house was conjunct Jupiter, she would never want for money. The reality was such that she never truly wanted for money, but she had a hard time holding on to it. In her thirties, for example, she made a fair amount of money, only to have it squandered by her husdand.

The position and condition of both Saturn and Mars gives us a sense of the drive and ambition of the native. These traits can be important factors when money and wealth are earned by the native’s own efforts. I have found that any aspect, hard or soft, between Mars and Saturn, gives some drive to succeed, with the hard aspects certainly more urgent.

It is important to note that if the native has only “easy” aspects involving the significators of money, there may not be enough drive or follow-through to both make and keep wealth. I have a relative who is a self-made woman, someone who worked her way up from a low position to the top. She has a yod configuration involving Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. The sextile portion of the yod is Venus sextile Saturn, with Jupiter quincunx both Venus and Saturn. Mars trines Jupiter and squares Saturn. Essentially, Saturn forms difficult aspects to both Mars and Jupiter, and Mars and Jupiter are in trine. This type of mixed configuration (in which there are what are traditionally considered both “lucky” and “unlucky” aspects) is something to look for when you are trying to determine the potential for wealth or success that is of the self-made kind. Easy aspects alone do not seem to provide the “oomph” necessary to work hard and strive towards a lofty goal.

One of the things that she believes to have been instrumental to her success is the fact that she does not shrink from challenges and does not fall apart when things around her seem to be falling apart. I suspect that her Sun and Mercury both trine Neptune play a role as well, because in addition to her ability to face up to challenges, her powerful intuition is part of the “formula” for her success. Especially as a woman from her generation and in her particular profession, she has had to rely on a certain level of faith (Neptune) and powerful faculties of intuition in order to succeed as she has.

How to Do Astrology Properly
1
Oct

Planets, Moon, Mercury When most of us think of astrology, we think about our natal sign and not much else. Do you know what some of the major influences are though, that define these Zodiac signs? First and foremost is the Sun. It is the center of all life and represents a person’s personality and spirit. It is the planetary ruler of the sign Leo.

More about understanding the horoscope.

The Moon, on the other hand, gives us our Soul. The Moon is the ruling planet of the Zodiac sign Cancer. It is very much associated with the mother and with maternal instincts.

Mercury rules over Gemini and Virgo. It is the planet of the mind and of communication. In other words, it is the planet of the idea and the means to communicate the idea. The planet Venus rules over Taurus and Libra. Venus is associated with characteristics and principles of harmony and beauty. It is of course, concerned with love. It is also concerned with the pleasure we derive from personal possessions.

Mars is the ruling planet for the dynamic Aries, and to some astrologers, Scorpio, although modern astrologers now determine that Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio. Mars is the planet that is concerned with the things you want, and how you go about getting those things. Jupiter is associated with pleasure and enjoyment. It is the ruler of Sagittarius and is also associated with principles of growth, religion and higher education.

Saturn is the ruling planet of Capricorn and is associated with principles such as reality and restrictions, boundaries and rules. Saturn was traditionally the ruler of Aquarius until the discovery of the planet Uranus. Neptune is the ruling planet of Pisces and is associated with deception, illusions, spirituality and psychic phenomena. The planet Pluto is the ruling planet of Scorpio and is associated with the concept of transformation.

If you’re a Pisces, you probably have a lot of friends, as you have an accepting and malleable nature that makes it easy for other people to be around you. A Pisces is more likely to go with the flow rather than swim upstream to try to change people or their environment. They can be more emotional, rather than rational and analytical. They don’t thrive in highly disciplined environments. Nine-to-five jobs are anathema to the Pisces They can think on their feet and an enjoy new situations and change. They are happiest in the fields of music, literature or art. Not that tough for steadfast.

Who’s the ideal partner for the Pisces. Not the rugged, caveman type, for sure. A relationship with a Pisces will be meeting of the mind and spirit, less so than the body. Pisces are cerebral and not intensely sexual. The need to be courted gently. They are intensely loving and loyal and have a monogamous nature. Don’t abuse this rare creature.

If you’re a Pisces, you may find yourself occasionally being walked over or taken advantage of because of your fluid nature. You may need to find ways to assert yourself that’s in harmony with your psyche. Because you tend to go with the flow and live in the moment, you might have a money-management style that can leave you short of funds at times. You may need to be stricter with yourself to ensure that doesn’t happen. Next time you’re drifting around a department store, just do a quick tally of everything before you get to the cashier. Put at least half of it back, if not more. Chances are it will still be there the next time you have money in your pocket!

This is just the beginning. The time for learn and understand astrology.
