Gain knowledge of these tips for public speaking

Posted By Tim in Skills

Here’s some great tips for public speaking and using your voice.

To use the voice to best effect in a display involves us having to put a great amount of effort into the way we manipulate it. So how doyou best use your voice?

1. Adding some confidence. If our audience doesn’t believe in us, then why will they bother giving us the time of day, not to mention sit through our presentation?

2. Conviction in what we are announcing is also key. Putting across our keenness, despite the incontrovertiblefact that we are genuinely convinced in our own argument, may cause our audience to doubt us and put query marks over what we must say.

3. Enthusiasm, too, is essential. If we are confident and are convinced in our own arguments, then highlylikely we intend to also come across as enthused. Being enthusiastic is also infectious. If we sound all fired up by what we are saying, the probabilities are we are going to have an easier ’sell in’ of our ideas than if we appear not so turned on by the topic matter in hand.

4. Our integrity is also something that must not ever be brought into question. If we try and bluff our way through a sticky patch, we will be able to be sure the fans will almost surely catch us out with the result that almost the rest we are saying may also be challenged.

5. Naturally, if we can show we have got a widespread grasp of the topic in hand by having the ability to show off our information, then that too is important, though not really necessary. Or is it? Broadcasters most often talk about a subject with which they are not extremely familiar. After all , not every broadcaster can be well versed in each subject. But the proven fact that they have done their research thoroughly gives them the wherewithal to ask looking questions of their interviewees and, as such, shows them to be ‘instant gurus’!

Ultimately, having a good voice is definitely a valuable asset, but is not exactly necessary to a good display. Few are in possession of actually beautiful voices, but there are thousands more who are good presenters.

Ensure you add using your voice and enhance your public speaking confidence.

Get In On Online Bible Based Study

Posted By Tim in Skills

The study of the Bible is an exciting adventure. As someone who has spent the last 25 years engaged in studying and teaching the Bible, I thought I would share a brief list of tips to help others who also are engaged in Bible study. Of course there are many methods one can follow, but there are a few tools that will add to any method. I hope that the that the five following free online bible study tips will serve useful to you.

1. Choose An Online Bible
Due to the marvel of the internet, a student of the Bible can save hours in time that previously would have been spent in flipping pages searching for this text and that. There are many great sites that will allow a user to type in a Bible text and instantly have multiple translations of that text appear before their eyes. Try it out. Type in a bible text reference and watch your search engine go to work. In addition to multiple translations, many online bibles have a keyword search feature as well. When you don’t know the passage you want, you can type in a word related to the topic on your mind. Presto! Any bible passages related will appear. My favorite site is Bible Gateway. You can even get the free code and add their search tool to your own site.

2. Utilize A Topical Bible Resource

A topical index is basically a compilation of keyword searches already done for you. The most well known is most likely Nave’s Topical Bible. Just type it in your search engine and try it out. In a flash, you can get a ton of bible passages related to the subject you are studying.

3. Learn How to Use A Strong’s Concordance with Hebrew and Greek Lexicon

The Strong’s Concordance is a well known resource. Find an online bible that is keyed to Strong’s. It usually will be in the KJV of the Bible. The words in the text will have a mini number under or above the words of the text. Click on the number and the word will appear with a definition of the original Hebrew or Greek word given. This often will let a lot of light on understanding the meaning of the text you are studying.

4. Ask Questions of the Passage

Online or not, don’t leave your interrogation of the bible text undone. One of the most productive tools I have found to use regarding online bible study resource is to ask questions of the text. Try it—Who, What, When, Where, Why and How will unearth a lot of goodies for you to share with others. One person’s information will grant the answers to another person’s questions. Life’s greatest questions are answered in the Bible.

5. Glean from the Study of Others Who Offer Their Resources
One of the joys of my ministry is sharing my free sermon outlines online with others. Of course there are lots of good sites loaded with bible studies out there. Again, just ask your search engine and it will give you the goods.

Thoughts On The Subconscious Mind Self Confidence And Positive Affirmations

Posted By Tim in Skills

There is so much talk these days when it comes to dealing with the subconscious brain and the how it works in association with the subconscious mind power in order to work with the intricacies of the universe to bring about those things in our life that we desire for ourselves. Many of us have set out on the goal setting path yet have not been able to make those things come about in our lives that we desire as we have not been able to keep ourselves on track and to pursue to do those things that we know that we should do.

This is absolutely where being able to really get to grips with the workings of the subconscious mind really comes into play as we look to get down into the depths of the working of our brains to be able to really understand how we tick and then with this fundamental piece of information we can really start to work on our secrets to success and therefore propel ourselves forward to those high heights that most people simply dream of when it comes to achievement.

To achieve that which we want to achieve takes a certain level of thought awareness and when we go on to survey people we see that this seems to be something that is severely lacking in their lives. Many of us have dreams which will require high levels of positive thinking activities in order to make the level of achievement and so therefore we really should do what all top performers do and get ourselves a perform coach to help us on our way. This can in fact save us years when it comes to getting to the destination that we wish to get to in terms of our life’s achievement.

I live with using the positive thinking activities and the self esteem and feel that we should also consider how much thinking positive affirmations plays in actually assisting us to getting where we wish to get to in our lives, take time out to think about how much surety you have in your life as you are looking to move unstoppably forward to achieving that which you want to come about in your life. There are many books on the topic of self esteem confidence that we can read and then use the information within to help us move forward and having, being and doing all that we wish for in our lives.

It is true that many people find the subconscious mind power to be both simple and complex that some people say that we must only ask and receive. Yet to do that with complete self improvement we must work to restructure our whole way of KEYWORD to do this it is really good to study as much of the concepts we can about subconscious mind power, positive thinking activities & self esteem confidence.

Success Leaves A List Of Self Motivational Clues

Posted By Tim in Skills

When you decide to become truly self motivational you realise that attaining success is not a destination it is something within you. It is the self motivational attitude that you take to every facet of your life. Not just the major things but the every day simple things to. Success is not something you can reach out and grab onto, nail down then parade as some kind of trophy which some less than self motivational individuals have come to view it. Successful people don’t just attain success they live it on an ongoing basis. Many descriptions of success have it as a journey. However I am convinced it is more than a journey and is in actual fact a life style and indeed a self motivationallife style choice.

Success always leaves clues, here is a list of a number of the success clues you should look out for:

1 Being focused on worthy goals
2 self motivational enough to work towards them (not just looking for short cuts)
3 Striving for high standards but not weighed down in seeking perfection
4 Visualising the big picture while also focusing on the detail
5 Perseverance is the self motivational watchword
6 Weighing up the need for big step change with incremental improvement
7 Holding the gains in success not sliding back into old behaviours
8 Assisting others, particularly less fortunate than yourself, set and achieve their goals
9 Showing commitment to delivering on promises
10 Fundamentally aware that your goal is still there after the buffeting storms around you subside
11 Not surrendering control to others by getting uncontrollably angry
12 Seeing abuse and hate from others as a gift you choose to refuse to accept from them
13 Do not acknowledge failure and see it really as a learning experience
14 Establish alliances with those who will commit to helping you with your goals
15 Understanding that everyone has within them the resources to achieve their goals
16 Being clear that success is a self motivational choice you make not one that is made for you
17 Seeing money as merely a scorecard to the wealth you create in the world not success itself
18 Respect others and their definition of success even when you can’t agree with them
19 Living in the now and valuing every moment of every day
20 Seeing health as the great generator for a self motivational and successful life style

To be self motivational and live a success lifestyle you need to be a detective looking for clues. My list above is not meant to be comprehensive but merely a starting point to begin your quest. To get some further clues have a look at this self motivational booklist I compiled.

12 Ways To Organize: Practical Home & Office Organization Advice

Posted By Tim in Skills

Go on,admit it! Sometimes you can be overwhelmed by seemingly endless streams of paperwork and wonder if you will ever be able to organize it all. Emails or Ezines that you want to keep, tips, school papers, notes of ideas that popped into your head as you waited to have a tooth filled, newspaper clippings. etc etc .. You just file and file and file and then forget where that ONE article was that you needed to finalize the project that was due last week! Phew! It is all exhausting.

Being a list person is a great help. If you are busy juggling a 9 to 5 work life, family time, a home-based business and taking care of your home, as well as having some hobbies — well it’s time to begin thinking about becoming a list enthusiast.

It’s time to simplify your life! For all of the super-busy people in this world, there are a number of very clever and yet Establish a time limit for each telephone call and make sure you tell your caller. That way you save yourself lots of stress from trying to end the telephone call. This will also aid your caller in condensing the information they want you to hear. This one sounds meticulous but is a big saver.

4) Give Thanks: The next time someone helps you out with something, be sure to offer thanks. This can be to a subordinate, co-worker or to a member of the family for any effort you have noticed. They will be happy to help you again, next time you need them.

5) Do it Now! Do not allow for the luxury of procrastination. If you do, this will only stress you out when you think about that hateful “to do” item on your list. You will end up blowing your “to do” list right out of proportion and it will become almost impossible to accomplish. Start by tackling the largest or most disliked job first, dividing it up into manageable tasks. At this stage, the other jobs will be a breeze!

6) Administrate Chores: Delegate those tasks that you have no time for or team up with someone who can help you the most.

7) Make a Group Effort: Save time and footwork by collecting everything to bring with you to complete errands or to distribute in each room of the house instead of making too many trips. Make a fast list while planning out your route and be sure to plan each stop along the way so you do not have to backtrack and lose time.

8) Schedule in Some Me Time! Take the time just for YOU. Allocate some time in your schedule and even make an appointment for yourself and keep it, even if it’s only a leisurely 30 minute bubble bath or a 20 minute stroll in the fresh spring air!

9) Make More Space: Go through your whole filing system and then throw out any old unneeded files to free up space in your filing system.

10) Deal with it Only Once: Handle each letter and each piece of paper only once. Read it and file it, redirect it to somewhere else, schedule it in your daily planner or toss it. Do not add it to a never-ending pile on your desk in the hope that you will get to it eventually. You WILL NOT!

11) Be your own Post-Master: Use those handy sticky notes to write errands requiring to be done. Stick them to your front door or your fridge, to remind you as you are headed out. These work great!

12) Be your own Systems Engineer: You simply find there is too much time wasted every day on searching for things. Find a new procedure that works for you and your lifestyle and then apply it to absolutely everything! Use it like clockwork and you will find new time slots you never thought existed!

The Importance Of Goal Setting

Posted By Tim in Skills

There is a big difference between scampering and running. Sure, they’re both actions designed to make person move fast, but the difference lies in goal setting. When a person scampers, it is without purpose. A person who is scampering moves to no purpose. It is an action performed instinctively. However, a person who runs does it to achieve a goal. Which one do you prefer to do?

No matter how much effort you make, if you do not have direction, you will be wasting your energy. How can one have direction without a goal? Goal setting is important because it is the first step towards a journey. People may think that we started out without having any real goals, but let us examine life for a moment: When a sperm is first released, it has a goal, does it not? It swims towards the egg. This goal gives it direction.

As we mature in life, our goals get bigger and more ambitious. However, we still set goals. Goal setting is an inherent part of life. It answers the question of purpose. It tells us why we have to live, if only until the next day.

As mentioned before, goal actually gives us direction. For without goals, where would we direct our efforts to? Goal setting is the key and essentially gives us the first step in our individual journeys.

Think of it: When you set a goal, you try to follow the most direct route towards it. So you take the first few steps towards achieving that goal. In setting a goal, you will always have the first step. However, in life, we encounter little detours. Sometimes, in order to reach our set goal, we must first accomplish another one.

Goal setting is the key to achieving success in life. If you set goals, you will be able to know which steps to take. Setting goals does not mean you make a list on what to do or what not to do. That would merely be the semblance of goal setting. True goal setting involves commitment.

In true goals setting you need to be able to put your heart into it and commit yourself to achieving that goal. From the moment you set a goal, every effort you make will be directed towards the achievement of that goal.

Goal setting is important in life because it allows you to measure yourself. Nobody knows why measuring one’s self is so important. Perhaps it has something to do with self-improvement. Sometimes it has something to do with the realization that you are doing something in life. However, goal setting will allow you to measure yourself by how close you are to achieving a goal. Through proper goal setting, you will be able to see just how far you’ve come and how far you will still be able to go.

Another importance of goal setting is that it allows you to know your purpose in life. Goal setting will prevent you from questioning your existence. Sure, some people find wisdom in questioning the meaning of life, but people who do not find answers to this question often end up in despair.

Goal setting gives you order.

If there is one thing that people seek in life more than food, clothing, or shelter, it would be order.

Your Chance to Learn How to Ponder Pagan Knowledge

Posted By Tim in Skills

PAGAN WHISPERS

Although I do not subscribe to Cosmic Ordering being some sort of mysterious system for invoking things to happen, I do feel that it has some tie-ins with other genres that I have worked with. I recently published a book by the author Carole Carlton called ?Mrs Darley?s Pagan Whispers? and I was prompted by Trace?s email to think of this book and the Pagan rituals and how they tied in with nature, as does Cosmic Ordering to some extent. This brought me on to thinking of some of the important days in the years.

SUMMER SOLSTICE

The longest day of the year is June 21st. It is the day when the sun is at its most northerly point and this is why it is ?the longest day?. On this day you can see a very old custom at Stonehenge, in Wiltshire, England. Every summer solstice hundreds of people go to Stonehenge to watch the sun rise.

The sun shines on one famous stone - the Heel stone. The Heel or Hele stone stands to the northeast of the Stonehenge circles. The name is probably derived from the Greek word for the sun (Helios). The Heel Stone is a stone which is not located in the main circle. The Heel Stone, formerly Friar?s Heel, is the Anglicized corruption of the ancient Welsh ?Freya Sul?. Sul (pronounced ?seal? in old and modern Welsh) means Sun Day, again, connected to the Greek word helios.

For the Druids this is a very important moment of the year. Druid celebrations also take place on Midsummer?s Eve, Bonfires are lit to show respect for the Sun God, whose power they say is greatest at the summer solstice. The fires also represent an attempt to ward off the coming winter. Practice of this ancient ritual, which also includes a summer solstice Circle Dance, is now mainly confined to Cornwall, the West Country, and London’s Hampstead Heath.

The Druids were the priests in Britain 2,000 years ago. They used the sun and the stones at Stonehenge to know the start of the months and seasons. There are Druids in Britain today too. This discovery has had tremendous impact on how Stonehenge has been interpreted.

In the first years of the 20th century, this alignment implied a ritualistic connection with sun worship and it was generally concluded that Stonehenge was constructed as a temple to the sun. More recently, though, the astronomer Gerald Hawkins has argued that Stonehenge is not merely aligned with solar and lunar astronomical events, but can be used to predict other events such as eclipses. In other words, Stonehenge was more than a temple, it was an astronomical calculator.

It was argued that the summer solstice alignment cannot be accidental. The sun rises in different directions in different geographical latitudes. For the alignment to be correct, it must have been calculated precisely for Stonehenge?s latitude of 51° 11′. The alignment, therefore, must have been fundamental to the design and placement of Stonehenge. As if corroborating the claims made by Hawkins for Stonehenge.

A professor of engineering and a mathematician, Alexander Thom, has shown that many other megalithic sites throughout Britain are also oriented towards the sun and the moon.

The alignment also made it clear that whoever built Stonehenge had precise astronomical knowledge of the path of the sun and, moreover, must have known before construction began precisely where the sun rose at dawn on midsummer’s morning while standing on the future site of the monument. It was the site, a particular place within the landscape, that was important; only later were these sites marked in some more permanent manner by the digging of ditches and banks and (or instead) the erection of wood or stone structures.

This particular spot in the landscape was so important that not only were ditches and banks dug and, later, stone circles and horseshoe arrangements constructed to mark it, but that some of the stones were deliberately transported there with considerable effort from a great distance away.

Contrary to expectations, the great stone circles and horseshoe arrangements for which Stonehenge is famous are later additions to the monument (mostly Stonehenge III) and are not essential to the lunar and solar calculations.

The megalithic ruin known as Stonehenge stands on the open downland of Salisbury Plain two miles (three kilometres) west of the town of Amesbury, Wiltshire, in Southern England. It is not a single structure but consists of a series of earth, timber, and stone structures that were revised and re-modelled over a period of more than 1400 years.

Unlike earlier stone circles oriented on natural features like prominent hills, Stonehenge aligns with no natural features all the alignments being man-made. The builders had to provide an outlier to mark the rising of the sun at midsummer as seen from the centre of the circle. This is the Heel Stone, located 60m from the centre of the circle. Note the barbed wire that has now been placed around the monument. It was put there to protect the site from large group that wanted to overrun the site for the summer solstice.

Mystery surrounds this 5,000 year old World Heritage Site. As old as the pyramids in Egypt, was Stonehenge designed as a place of sun worship, or as part of a huge astronomical calendar? Each monument was a circular structure, aligned with the rising sun at the solstice. Erected between 3,000 BC and 1,600 BC, the stones were carried hundreds of miles over land and sea, while antlers and bones were used to dig the pits that hold the stones. An awe-inspiring family visit, Stonehenge is a powerful reminder of the once-great Stone and Bronze Ages.

A 17th-century architect named Inigo Jones thought Stonehenge was a Roman temple. By the time the 18th and 19th centuries rolled along, popular opinion had changed - Stonehenge was thought to be a Druid temple for sun-worship. (The problem with this theory is that Stonehenge was finished 1,000 years before the Druids came to prominence.

British author John Mitchell has suggested that Stonehenge was ?a cosmic temple dedicated to all twelve gods of the zodiac. It represents the ideal cosmology, the perfect and complete image of the universe?.

And that seems as good an explanation as any for this feat of engineering and construction that continues to fascinate us to this day.

Place to Read the Important Info About Cosmic Ordering and Justice

Posted By Tim in Skills

Cosmic Ordering and Old Time Justice

A man in the Old West was being tried for stealing a horse. You need to remember that stealing a horse in the Old West was a very grave and serious offence. A person could be hanged if found guilty of such a deed.

It so happened that the man whose horse had been stolen had always made it a point to get the best of any person with whom he had any dealings. He had never tried to do anything good for anyone other than himself. Consequently, the man whose horse had been stolen didn’t have a single friend in the entire town. The case was tried and presented to the jury. The evidence against the accused man was pretty strong. After about thirty minutes of deliberation, the jury returned to the court chambers. “Gentlemen of the jury, have you reached a verdict?” The judge asked. The chairman of the jury stood up. “Yes we have, your honour,” he replied.

“What is your verdict?” inquired the judge.

“We find the defendant not guilty if he will return the horse.”

After the judge had silenced the laughter in the courtroom, he admonished the jury. “I cannot accept that verdict. You will have to retire until you reach another verdict,” said the judge. The jury went back into their room to deliberate toward another verdict. No member of the jury had any particular liking for the man whose horse had been stolen. They took their place in the jury box and the courtroom grew silent.

“Gentlemen of the jury,” began the judge, “have you reached a verdict?” The chairman of the jury stood up.

“Yes we have, your honour,” he replied. “What is your verdict?” asked the judge.

The courtroom was totally silent. You could have heard a pin drop. Everyone eagerly awaited the verdict. The chairman read the decision reached by the twelve good men, tried and true.

“We find the defendant not guilty, and he can keep the horse!” The courtroom burst into laughter!

Moral of the story: If you spend your life trying to take advantage of others, never caring about them in any way except what you can get from them or what they can do for you, you will end up a loser, like the man who lost his horse.

If you desire a friend, then be a friend. If you desire for other people to help you, then help other people.

A CAVEAT

Don?t look at everyone you meet as a ?meal ticket? out of your present existence or a money making machine. All what I am saying is that the opportunity is out there and you DO need other people in order to make things work. Think about where different situations could take you, and most of all, never expect something for nothing.

EACH STAGE IS IMPORTANT

Rather than go for something big straightway, use something which I have called a ?step order?.
