There is a common belief among people, no matter where they are located in the world, that the best employment opportunities that their country has to offer can be found in its major cities. The people in the United Kingdom also tend to be inclined to this line of thinking. They leave their families and friends, and the familiar comforts of their hometowns in hopes of making it big in the more popular cities. While it is true that London, Manchester and other key cities in the UK offer plenty of opportunities for job hunters, the competition in these locations is tougher and, more often than not, the cost of living is higher.

More and more people in the UK are slowly acknowledging the fact that there is indeed life outside the big cities. Sales jobs alone are growing in an astonishing rate. This is attributed to the fact that all businesses, whether big or small, are in need of sales and marketing professionals to succeed. In addition to that, the volume of students enrolled in universities and colleges with Sales and Marketing undergraduate majors is also growing. It is for this reason that cities, no matter the area that they belong, are creating more and more jobs for them.

Brighton is a country borough in the south coast of England, and together with Hove, forms the region’s seaside city that is most populated. Despite rampant news of recession impacts all over the UK, Brighton, along with other cities in the southeast region, has a fairly stable economy. In fact, according to reports from the South East Development Agency, the economy in the area is high income, advanced, service oriented and broad based. Brighton sales jobs in various sectors are abundant. Applicants, whether new graduates or long time professionals, have various vacancies to apply for. According to statistics, the most advertised vacancies for sales jobs in Brighton are sales consultants, customer service, sales managers and sales representatives, to name some.

Liverpool, on the other hand, is another peripheral city of the UK that has so many things to be proud of. It boasts more than just being the origin of The Beatles. It is, however, undeniable that it is the hype of this 1960’s band that drew the thousands of people from all over the world and boosted Liverpool’s tourism. Like Brighton, it offers plenty of UK sales jobs open for everyone to apply for. In 2008, Liverpool is named Europe’s Capital of Culture. This acknowledgment is expected to boost the city’s economy during this time of economic instability and make it a more attractive place for investors to do business in. Today, sales jobs in Liverpool include, but are not limited to, retail sales, sales training, sales support, technical sales and business development.

As mentioned above, every business needs sales professionals to generate income. Whether they are in a country’s major city or the peripheral area, UK sales jobs provide a very promising future. With the proper skills, diligence and hard work, you might very well be on your way to becoming UK’s most remarkable salesman, and you do not have to be in crowded London to make this happen.
