There are surprisingly many individuals out there who are searching for a fast divorce. A survey carried out by a major family law firm noted that sex related matters, usually infidelity and unusual sexual preferences, were the leading reasons behind fast divorce requests.
About a third% of divorce cases were the result of lifestyle issues. Some couples stated work pressure and cultural differences as the main cause. Just over 10% of the people questioned cited new technology like the Internet and text messaging as major contributing factors in a divorce.
But for what ever reason, individuals would like the divorce to be settled in as little time as possible and with the least amount of costs and resources. Fortunately there are ways to get a quick cheap divorce.
A quick divorce normally requires the divorce to be uncontested. This means that both individuals must agree to the divorce and the terms of the divorce. A quick divorce is normally allowed when there is no litigation about shared assets and child custody. Both individuals should decide in beforehand who will get the house, the cars and other assets.
As soon as both individuals agree to have a divorce, they should separate immediately as a marriage in which the couple has been living apart for a year can get a quick divorce approved. A couple may also file for a no-fault divorce. A no-fault divorce frees either party of any fault for the end of the marriage. The no-fault divorce does not require valid reasons to get a quick divorce.
Another way to a get a legal quick divorce is to identify cities or neighboring states that grant faster divorces than the area that you live in. For example, Nevada residents can get a quick divorce in Reno. In a number of cases, both individuals may even consider getting divorced in a different country such as the Dominican Republic, which awards fast divorce to foreigners. As a prerequisite, both spouses normally have to agree on foreign divorces, as well as the distribution of assets, in order to make them legal.
Last but not least, it is always favorable to have a good divorce lawyer to guide you through the proceedings. You might want a simple and fast divorce but sometimes complications can arise which could threaten to drag on the divorce. A good divorce lawyer or a good family lawyer would help prepare you for such instances or help you avoid such situations altogether.
